Acceptance
These Terms of Use govern your use of LinguaLeaf and related Leafwise Studio services. By installing or using LinguaLeaf, you agree to these terms and any applicable Google Play terms.
License
Subject to these terms, Leafwise Studio grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use LinguaLeaf for lawful personal purposes on compatible devices associated with you.
Imported books and content
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right to import, possess, read, translate, process, and use EPUB files and other content with LinguaLeaf.
LinguaLeaf does not grant you rights to copyrighted books or other third-party content.
Project Gutenberg and third-party content
Project Gutenberg books, metadata, websites, and services are operated independently from Leafwise Studio. Public-domain status can differ by jurisdiction. You are responsible for complying with the law applicable where you live.
Leafwise Studio does not guarantee the availability, accuracy, formatting, completeness, or legal status of third-party content.
Translation, word lookup, and text-to-speech
Translation, word lookup, and text-to-speech results are assistive tools. They may contain errors, omissions, unusual pronunciation, or imperfect interpretations.
Do not rely on LinguaLeaf translation for legal, medical, emergency, financial, safety-critical, or other high-stakes decisions.
Language packs and purchases
Optional language packs may be offered as one-time, non-consumable products through Google Play. Prices, taxes, currencies, offers, eligibility, payment processing, and final purchase confirmation are controlled by Google Play.
Eligible purchases may be restored using the Google account that completed the transaction. Access can depend on Google Play availability, account status, device compatibility, region, and technical operation of Google services.
Refunds
Purchase and refund requests are handled under Google Play policies, applicable consumer law, and any rights that cannot legally be excluded. Leafwise Studio cannot directly alter payment-card transactions processed solely by Google Play.
Discount codes and promotional offers
A discount code may be limited by time, account, region, product, campaign, app installation, or Google Play offer availability. Entering a code does not guarantee that an offer will be available or that a purchase will be completed.
Google Play displays the final price before purchase. Promotional offers may be changed, suspended, or ended as permitted by law and the applicable offer terms.
Acceptable use
You may not:
- use LinguaLeaf for unlawful activity;
- infringe copyrights or other rights;
- attempt to bypass purchase or entitlement controls;
- interfere with discount validation, servers, security, or availability;
- redistribute LinguaLeaf or paid language packs without authorization;
- use automated systems to abuse public or Leafwise-operated services; or
- reverse engineer the app except where applicable law expressly permits it.
Updates and availability
Leafwise Studio may update, correct, add, remove, or discontinue features and supported services. Compatibility may change as Android, Google Play, third-party services, and devices evolve.
No warranty
To the extent permitted by law, LinguaLeaf is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of uninterrupted operation, complete accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or compatibility with every EPUB, device, language, voice, or service.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Leafwise Studio will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, content, profits, or opportunity arising from use of LinguaLeaf.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer law.
Termination
You may stop using LinguaLeaf at any time. Leafwise Studio may restrict access to Leafwise-operated online services where reasonably necessary to address abuse, security threats, unlawful conduct, or violations of these terms.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as LinguaLeaf and related services change. The effective date will be revised when updated terms are published.
